Beach Inspirations

Majorca, Spain

One of the Balearics just off the main coast of Spain with beautiful beaches and plenty to do. Just a few hours from the UK, this is a wonderful spot for families with miles of calm beaches and plenty of watersports on offer. There are over 20 golf courses on the island and Palma, the capital is great for a little retail therapy.

The Maldives

Straddling the equator, the 1,102 islands that make up the Maldives form 26 atolls, or rings, of coral scattered over an area of land 510 miles long and 75 miles wide. The air of tranquility enveloping the archipelago makes the Maldives the ideal place to escape from the real world to a palm-fringed haze. There is a perfect beach here for everyone, it just depends on whether you’re after top notch hotels or stunning water bungalows – the ideal spot for an away from it all holiday.

Caribbean Coast, Mexico

With a 22-kilometre belt of white sand, shopping malls, and an after-dark scene to rival Rio, Cancun is perfect for a lively beach holiday. Head further down the coast and you’ll find Playa del Carmen a little quieter, and in Playacar, the bars and shops disappear in favour of secluded beaches and seaside villas. In Riviera Maya, meanwhile, tropical jungle and Mayan ruins begin to appear. There’s something here to appeal to every kind of beach lover.
